Printing bigger than an office printer

Wide format simply means anything too large for a desktop machine — a printed panel, a banner, a wall graphic, a job site sign. We run it on a roll-fed machine, then laminate it.

That lamination is the part most shops skip, and it is the difference between colour that survives a Texas summer and colour that looks chalky by August. It costs us a step; it saves you a reprint.

The work that matters most here is rigid panel printing. A 4×8 aluminium panel, printed and laminated, is the one thing a national online printer cannot ship you economically — the freight costs more than the sign. That is the job we are built for.

What we print wide format

Four things account for nearly everything that comes through. Sizes are made to fit — there is no fixed catalogue.

What we do best

Rigid Panels

Digitally printed and laminated aluminium, aluminium composite, corrugated plastic, PVC and Lexan — cut to size or routed to a contour. Used for post and panel signs, site boards, real estate panels and building signage. This is the product the online printers cannot compete on, because freight on a 4×8 rigid sheet costs more than the sign. See aluminium sign panels.

Banners & Mesh

Roll-fed, laminated and finished in house. Solid vinyl for walls and elevations, mesh where wind is a factor, flex face for pole and pylon cabinets. See custom banners.

Decals & Labels

Die-cut vinyl decals, floor graphics, equipment and safety labels, window lettering. Laminated wherever they take foot traffic or weather. Any quantity from one upward.

Wall Graphics & Murals

Full-coverage interior graphics on removable or permanent film, printed in panels and installed to the wall. Also posters, event boards and short-run print when you need a handful rather than a pallet.

Substrates, and picking the right one

Aluminium — .040 and heavier. Years outdoors, will not flex or soften, takes grommets and frames.

Aluminium composite — rigid, light for its size, routs to any outline rather than a rectangle. The workhorse for larger panels.

Corrugated plastic — the short-term option, measured in weeks rather than years.

PVC and Lexan — clean contours indoors, impact resistance where a panel is likely to get hit.

Tell us where the sign goes and how long it needs to live there, and we will name the substrate rather than quote you the most expensive one.

Talk it through

Why we laminate instead of printing direct

Ink on its own is exposed. Sun fades it, abrasion scuffs it, and cleaning takes the colour off. A laminate layer sits over the print and takes that damage instead.

It adds a step and a small cost. It also roughly doubles how long the piece looks new, which is why we do it as standard rather than as an upsell.

The exception is genuinely short-term work — a one-week promotion does not need protecting, and we will tell you so rather than charge for it.

How a print job runs

Send print-ready files, or we build the layout from your logo and copy.

03

Trimmed, routed, hemmed or grommeted. Pick up in Rosenberg, delivered, or installed.

Common questions

How large can you print in one piece?

Roll-fed work prints in a single run up to roll width, and any length. Anything wider is panelled and seamed, which is standard practice on building-scale graphics. Call with your dimensions and we will tell you whether it seams and where the seam falls.

Why does a printed aluminium panel cost more from an online printer?

Because of freight, not printing. A 4×8 rigid sheet is bulky and easily damaged in transit, so shipping frequently exceeds the cost of the sign itself. Printing it eleven miles from where it gets installed removes that entirely.

Do you laminate everything?

Everything intended to last. Short-term work such as a one-week promotion does not need it, and we will say so rather than add the cost.

What file formats do you need?

Vector artwork is ideal — AI, EPS or PDF with fonts outlined. High-resolution raster files work for photographic content. If all you have is a logo off a website, tell us and we will rebuild it rather than print something soft.

How quickly can you turn a job around?

Straightforward printed work is usually days rather than weeks. Rigid panels needing routing or contour cutting take longer. Tell us your deadline when you call and we will be honest about whether it is achievable.
