A project generates signage from mobilisation to handover

Contractors rarely order a sign. They order a sequence of them, usually under time pressure, usually from whoever answers the phone. The board goes up at mobilisation, the safety and site rules follow, fence banners appear when the hoarding does, and something permanent is expected on the building the week before handover.

We have been supplying construction signs to Texas builders since 1976, which is long enough to know that the thing that costs a job money is not the sign — it is waiting for it. Most of what a site needs is straightforward work we can turn around quickly.

If you run several projects, it is worth setting up the artwork once and reordering against it. Tell us how you work and we will fit around it.

Trade & Contact Boards

Who to call for what, posted where the crews and deliveries actually look.

Handover Signage

The permanent signage the client expects on day one — planned during the build, not scrambled the week before.

Signage by project phase

Ordering it as three batches instead of eleven emergencies is cheaper and considerably less painful. Here is roughly how a job breaks down.

Phase one

Mobilisation

  • Project identification board
  • Site rules and safety panels
  • Gate and access notices
  • Skid mounted so it moves with the site
Phase two

Active build

  • Fence and hoarding banners
  • Lot, phase and section markers
  • Trade and contact boards
  • Replacements for weather and damage
Phase three

Handover

  • Permanent building identification
  • Entrance and monument signage
  • Removal of all temporary signage
  • Site returned to the condition specified

Built to still be readable at completion

A project board goes up in month one and has to look deliberate in month twenty. Most do not. Unlaminated flatbed UV prints on a south-facing board are noticeably chalky by the second summer, which is a poor advertisement for the people named on it.

Everything we print is digitally printed and laminated. On a two-week job that is irrelevant. On an eighteen-month development it is the difference between a board you are happy to be named on and one you quietly take down early.

We also build boards to accept overlays, so a change of lead contractor, a new phase or a sold banner is a panel rather than a reprint.

How we work with contractors

01

Set up the artwork once

Your logo, your standard layouts, your safety formats. Held on file so reorders skip the design step.

02

Order against it

Send sizes and quantities for the next site. No starting from scratch each time.

03

Print & laminate

Produced in the Rosenberg shop. Rigid panels, mesh banners and temporary boards all come off the same line.

04

Deliver or install

Collected from the shop, dropped to site, or installed across the four counties.

Building across four counties

Fort Bend County is where most of this work sits — residential development around Richmond, Fulshear and Needville, commercial build-out through Katy, Sugar Land and Missouri City, and the industrial and warehouse corridors around Stafford and Rosenberg.

Further out, the jobs change shape. Wharton, El Campo, Bay City and Manvel bring agricultural buildings, oilfield service facilities and civic work, where crews often need signage the same week and the national franchises will not drive out for it. See also post and panel signs.

One thing we do not do: permitting. We do not handle sign permits in house, though we can refer you to a partner who does, and we build to whatever dimensions your approval specifies.

Cut in house

CNC routed & laser cut

We run both a router and a laser, which means shapes, letters and panels are cut here rather than ordered in. Acrylic takes a polished edge off the laser; the router handles wood, aluminium composite and PVC with depth and dimension.

CNC & laser cutting

Acrylic Laser cut letters, logos and panels with a polished edge
Wood Routed and carved, cut to shape at depth
Aluminium composite Contour cut rigid panels and shaped signs
PVC & Lexan Clean contours for indoor and outdoor use

Common questions

How fast can you turn around a job site sign?

Straightforward boards with artwork ready often go out in a few business days. We are open Monday through Thursday, so call early in the week if you need it on site that week.

Can you match the format our safety officer specifies?

Yes. Send us the layout, colour and wording standard you work to and we print to it. We do not certify signage against any standard — we produce to the specification you supply.

Do you handle sign permits?

No, not in house. We can refer you to a partner who does. We build to whatever dimensions and placement your approval specifies.

Can one board be updated as the project moves on?

Yes, if we build it that way from the start. Overlay panels let you change a lead contractor, add a phase or drop a sold banner without reprinting the whole face.

Do you keep our artwork on file?

Yes. Contractors running multiple sites usually set up standard layouts once and then reorder against them by size and quantity, which cuts both cost and turnaround.

Will you remove the temporary signage at completion?

Yes. Removal, hauling and disposal can be scheduled as part of close-out, including patching where boards were fixed to a structure.
